WHAT KIND OF CHURCH IS PRAISE CITY?
PCC is an independent, non-denominational, multi-cultural, Spirit-filled, Spirit-led and Bible centered Christian church. We are passionately pursuing the presence of God in our worship and seeking the truth, life and wisdom found in His Word.
Simply put, we are all imperfect, messy and even broken people whose lives are being healed and transformed by the grace and power of God as we follow the example of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We are a church family that is warm, friendly, accepting, loving and life-giving.
Our Statement of Faith shares what we believe are foundational doctrines as taught in Scripture.
HOW SHOULD I DRESS?
Come in whatever you're comfortable wearing! Covid-19 safety protocols are followed to help keep our church community healthy and safe.
IS THERE SOMETHING FOR CHILDREN?
Children are staying with their families for now due to COVID-19 concerns.
IS THERE COFFEE OR FOOD AVAILABLE IF WE DON'T GET A CHANCE TO GRAB SOMETHING AT HOME?
There are water bottles available in our foyer. Extended breakfast beverages and snacks will be available again sometime in the future.
HOW LONG WILL THE SERVICE BE?
The service begins at 10am and ends about 11:15am.
WHAT WILL THE SERVICE BE LIKE?
Our services are more contemporary vs traditional or liturgical. Our schedule is simple with worship and teaching being the two main parts of our service. Our worship leaders and band open the service with contemporary, congregational songs that unify our hearts and focus our attention on God. One of our service hosts welcomes everyone, highlights a few things on our calendar and then the team continues to lead us into deeper worship.
We desire to be sensitive to how the Holy Spirit may be moving, so we often have "worship windows" where we may linger at the end of a worship song and just sing a refrain or pray for a few moments together before moving into the teaching.
The messages are sometimes connected in a series and always based on Scripture. Pastor Laurie's delivery style is more teaching than preaching. She uses humor and personal experiences to help communicate Biblical truth and is known for her transparency. Laurie teaches
most often, but several other men and women are also included on the teaching team.
WILL GUESTS BE RECOGNIZED IN THE SERVICE?
The service host will welcome guests in a general greeting but will never ask you to raise your hand or stand up or point anyone out specifically. Praise City is a safe place to worship without being put on the spot if you are new to our church.
WILL GUESTS BE EXPECTED TO GIVE IN THE OFFERING?
No! We do believe in the Biblical principal of tithing and we have been blessed with members who desire to honor God with their time, talent and treasure and are faithful and generous in their giving. However, we do not pass a traditional offering plate in the service. We have options for online giving, text to give and we also have offering towers that are placed at the back of the sanctuary for those who bring a physical offering on Sunday. There is no offering taken as part of the service where a guest would be expected to participate.
DO YOU SERVE COMMUNION IN EVERY SERVICE?
No! Communion is a part of our worship services about once a month. We do honor communion as sacred and with great reverence.
All believers who have surrendered their life to Jesus Christ are invited to participate. Children that are old enough to have given their
life to Christ and understand the meaning of communion are also invited to participate. We defer to parents discretion as to whether
it's appropriate for their child to participate.
